幕を開けた２０１０年代は、世界的な構造変化が加速するに違いない。経済の分野では、米国一極集中から多極化へ、といううねりだ。
米国の過剰消費に世界中がもたれ掛かればなんとかなるという時代は終わった。世界大恐慌以来の経済危機を克服するうえで協調は不可欠だが、同時に各国が内需を振興して自立的な発展を進めることが前提になる。
特に、輸出と貯蓄にいそしんできたアジアなどの新興国が「豊かでエコで安心・安全な社会」をどう築くか。世界の安定と調和はそこにかかる。
■生き残りかけて
日本経済は生き残りをかけて、アジアへの融合を図ることが求められる。アジアの需要をただ取り込むという発想でなく、近隣諸国の豊かな社会づくりに寄与し、結果として生まれる市場の果実を得るようにしたい。

[他山之石] 從無到有桂花巷：觀光發展對於南庄社區的影響 →
原本單純只是想要改善社區環境的工作，意外使得南庄發展成一個觀光景點，使得原本的小鎮換了面貌。如此的觀光發展，帶來了的是與原本社區營造的意圖相悖的 結果，帶入了大量的外來商家。觀光所帶來的利益與人潮，只有少部份在地人能夠共霑雨露，大部分的人仍是得要離開家鄉外出覓職，繼續留在在地的人則是得面對 因為充滿外來遊客而變得擁塞不便的生活環境。 的確，繁華落盡的小鎮又再一次熱鬧起來，但是這只是表面的光影。除了當地居民無法由此得到生活品質的改善外，由下而上的社區營造所面對的環境，已然是紛眾的利益競爭的環境，更難營造起共識與共同的規劃。有心經營地方的人士不僅是要滲入原本的社會網絡，而是得要面對更加難以突破的利益關係，在社區凝聚力不夠的狀況下，很容易無法形成與觀光產業相對的另一股力量。
